All of our garden offices achieve class leading levels of thermal performance and feature their own heating so are usable 365 days a year. However, a garden office needs to be more than just a insulated and heated space, it needs to be both welcoming and motivating. By their very nature, detached garden offices provide the ideal separation from home distractions and by adding some of our bespoke features, you can create you ideal, personal working environment.

Here are some of the top design consideration for garden offices.

Desk height windows

Desk height windows are a great addition providing much welcomed natural daylight direct to you main working area. In some cases they can also provide a valuable view towards your house, useful for when visitors arrive or the delivery man is looking for a safe place for your parcel.

Security can be a concern anytime your valued personal and business possessions are away from your person.  A garden office may contain sensitive documents and valuable electronic equipment and you will not always be around to ensure there safe keeping.  By standard in all of our multi functional garden rooms, offices & studios, we fit windows and doors which exceed the police approved standard, know as “secured by design”. This way we can provide the peace of mind that your possessions will remain both safe and secure.

Internet connection

We can install a CAT 6 cable run connecting you garden office to the router in you home.  With an additional router this cable can be used to create a second, slave WiFi network in your new garden office.  There are several different WiFi booster product available, however a hard line and slave router approach is the best solution to ensure you have a high speed internet connection in your new office, a necessity for most people who work from home.

Fixed glazing skylights

Skylights add an attractive design feature as well as flooding the internal space with natural day light.  Natural daylight boost serotonin and as a result improves our creativity, productivity and focus. There is also a certain satisfaction watching the wide shaft of light move across the internal space as the day progresses and also to looking and seeing an uninterrupted view of the sky, also great for studios.

These are just some of the options we have available for garden offices.
